The problem of food gets worse in places of conflicts and wars, because the ability to produce food declines greatly, due to the lack of the basic ingredients for this process, starting from the stability of the population in places where food can be produced, to the lack of suitable grains, or appropriate means to help in producing food. production, and therefore the food basket is necessary and important for our people who are there.

The food basket project was launched because of all these reasons and obstacles that together lead to a very high price of food, because of which the head of the family cannot secure the food for his family, so obtaining basic needs becomes very difficult, and may be impossible for some cases of severe need.

Therefore, the importance of the food basket provided to them ranks as urgent humanitarian relief that cannot wait, and is sometimes ranked first in terms of importance and prioritization, because it may save people’s lives from starvation, especially children, as their small bodies cannot bear what adults bear.

The food basket project came to meet the needs that were generated with the onset of crises in our Arab region, where the living and economic conditions began to become more difficult and complex, and the impact of difficulties and obstacles began to increase negatively, especially on our displaced families in camps, and in general in conflict areas, where the poverty rate reached In Palestine, it reached 29.2%, and in Syria it reached 84.3%. In Yemen, poverty rates reached 75%.

For all of the above, and because we seek to serve those who deserve the service, and those who need it and expect it from us, the Wejdan Association seeks to implement the food basket project in the areas in which it provides its services, such as the northern Syrian camps, and the most needy areas in Yemen, as well as in places of need within Palestine, in an attempt From the association to fill some of the basic needs that help the needy in light of the circumstances they are exposed to, with the aim of providing support and support to our people in places of crisis, so that we provide them with the basic nutritional requirements of life that help support the family for a period of time, trying to reduce the financial and psychological burden on Heads of families and female heads of families, which helps, even in a small part, in the psychological and nutritional stability of the family, and may have been the reason for a more normal life for its children physically and psychologically, and reduced the difficulties and obstacles of life for the whole family.

As the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, said: “The most beloved of people to God Almighty is the one who is most helpful to people, and the most beloved of deeds to God Almighty is the pleasure that you bring to a Muslim, or relieve him of distress, or pay off his debt, or ward off his hunger.” Narrated by al-Tabarani
