Like a one body (2)…

Because helping the afflicted is a human duty!

Hurricane Daniel, which struck the cities of eastern Libya, and the Moroccan earthquake that preceded it days, awakened in the hearts of Muslims around the world the conscience of urgent relief for those affected in the two countries, to provide relief to a distressed person who lost his home and his children were displaced, and to rescue patients who did not find the slightest treatment after the natural disasters that struck their country, and relief for the displaced. To other cities, where their homes were razed to the ground.

It is a season of pain because the tears of our afflicted people pained our souls and the cries of those suffering there pierced our hearts.. The pain is the same, without a doubt.. but it is also a season of much goodness. We stand with them, support them, sympathize with their affliction, and offer them merciful touches. The Messenger, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The believer to the believer is like a solid building, one of which supports the other.”

“Like one body 2”… Why?

Because the effects of the two disasters that occurred in Libya and Morocco were great, and made the afflicted in the two countries urgently need basic necessities such as food, clothing, medicine, and shelter.

Huge numbers of casualties arrived from both countries, and statistics showing the extent of the devastation inflicted on the residents of these cities, make us pour with the heart of one man to shelter those affected and for urgent reconstruction following the earthquake that struck the city of Al Haouz, Chichaoua and Marrakesh in Morocco, and the devastating flood in eastern Libya.

Under the slogan: “Because we are a nation of compassion,” Wijdan Charitable Association launched the “Like One Body 2” campaign for urgent relief for those affected in Morocco and Libya, which came as an extension of the “Like One Body 1” campaign to relief those afflicted by the earthquake in Turkey and Syria on February 6 this year.

“Like One Body 2”… What do you focus on?

The campaign focused on the basic needs that help the afflicted in the two countries, such as food, as children and women in the two countries were starving, as well as clothing, which was greatly in short supply in the two countries due to the magnitude of the disaster as a result of which our people in the two countries lost the most important components of human life, and also shelter because homes were destroyed and dozens were forced to Thousands have been displaced in Libya, and tens of thousands have also been displaced in Morocco from their areas of residence, and the most in need and urgent are patients, especially patients with chronic diseases.

The needs of the afflicted in Morocco and Libya.. What are they?

The basic needs range from mattresses, personal health supplies, mattresses, diapers and special milk to children, as well as blankets that protect people from the bitter cold after they have spread out on the ground and covered the sky in the two countries, in addition to first aid bags, nutrition and blood bags, drinking water and burial bags.

Also, the devices used by patients with chronic diseases such as asthma, medical care and psychological support from specialist doctors, the necessary financial needs, maintenance of buildings, roads and means of transportation, and maintenance of services such as electricity and water.

Health effects of the Morocco earthquake

The Morocco earthquake had serious health effects, perhaps the most serious of which is crushing disease, which affects people in areas exposed to natural disasters. It is also called “crushing syndrome,” and people who spent long hours under the rubble are exposed to it.

It affects the bones due to pressure on the body for a long time, which leads to damage to muscle tissue. This condition requires urgent relief for those who spent hours under the rubble of houses in Morocco, in terms of providing treatment so that their health condition does not worsen and lead to death.
